Buffalo, New York telephone exchanges after October 16, 1960

The tables that this page leads to give the exchanges in use in the city of Buffalo, New York, for the period after October 16, 1960, when Buffalo changed from two-letter to two-letter-one-digit exchanges. For the exchanges prior to that change, please see the section of this website devoted to the early Buffalo, New York dial exchanges.

This section is organized in the same way as is each geographical section of this site: by exchange. While in most cases, on this site, there are three tables, which can be described as alphabetical, numeric, and alphabetical/numeric, in the specific case of Buffalo and no other city, there is no alphabetical list because there were in Buffalo no full names in the post-1960 era. The alphabetical/numeric listing in this case shows the actual names used officially in Buffalo. In addition, both the alphabetical/numeric and numeric tables really order the exchanges the same, because the same letter was always used for each number (Thus, all 8's were rendered as T). Both tables are given, though, to facilitate looking them up.
